My Today

Every morning I get up with two thoughts in my mind
The demons of the past and what lays ahead in time
In this tussle of past and future my present is left behind
But now I have decided to make things a little less sublime

What has gone, has gone and happened in its prime
No use to sit back, cry and question all the time
The lessons learned the hard way but now need to wind
But today's chapter is still open so let me commit my crime

What will happen, will happen it is He who sings the rhyme
There ain't really no stitch that can save the nine
No matter how hard i think or try the control is not mine
But today's chapter is still open so let me commit my crime

Yesterday affects today affects tomorrow and it works in this outline
There was a today in past and it will again be used for future to define
So the crimes committed today are only for that frame of time
And when you carry it forward you cry forever and whine
